Founder
Delphine, born and raised in the French Southern East, spent her childhood immersed in the region's rich cultural tapestry. Her journey then took her to the vibrant French West Indies, on the Island of St. Martin, where she lived her young adult years. Delphine's passion for creating truly blossomed. This creative fervour led to the birth of her first brand.
In 2008, seeking new horizons, Delphine moved to Bundjalung Country, Australia, a land of diverse landscapes and opportunities. During these years, Delphine self taught her jewellery skills and experimented various techniques, undertook courses and acquired a strong savoir-faire in the industry. In 2020, inspired by her experiences and driven by a burgeoning interest in her work, she founded Sable Noir. Delphine is passioned, dedicated and endeavoured to fulfil her dreams.
Each collection carries profound meanings, drawing from Delphine's childhood memories and everyday life experiences. Her inaugural collection, 'Ashanti' is an heartfelt homage to her grandparents, who lived and traveled across Africa, a journey in which she joined them for part of the way. Each piece in this collection encapsulates a tale, a tradition and a memory, rendered into unique handcrafted jewellery.
The second collection, 'Reminiscens', is as captivating and unique, weaving the narrative of lost treasures and marauding conquests from the golden era of the Caribbean. It serves as a reminder of life's adventures and the historical richness of the tropical islands. Feminine and ultra sexy, each piece is handcrafted with powerful intentions involving raw and natural elements.
Her latest collection is a tribute to the majestic dunes of Sahara, as she visited its hosting countries at numerous occasions. Delphine has always been fascinated by Tribes and Nomads for their ancestral culture and traditions. 'Dune' hold designs that symbolically represent an eye, a sandy shape or an oasis, offering protection and guidance through the journey of life.
Through her creative endeavours, Delphine's many paths from the south of France to the heart of Australia reflects a life of passion, adventure, and artistic exploration. Her creations at Sable Noir are not merely jewellery ; they are pieces of wearable art, each with its own soul and story.
